Pie and Broadway

The hit musical Waitress arrived on Broadway this spring, making history with the first all-female creative team. Based on the 2007 film of the same name, Waitress features music and lyrics by five-time Grammy®-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles. Bareilles' score is complemented with a book by Jessie Nelson, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Tony Award®-winner Diane Paulus.

Tony-winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful) returns to Broadway as Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. Supported by her crew of waitresses and customers, Jenna summons the secret ingredient she's been missing—courage. Waitress is an uplifting new musical celebrating friendship, motherhood and the magic of a well-made pie.

This show is a must-see this season. As TIME magazine professes, "The women of Waitress are changing Broadway!"
