The United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) recently announced that it will host the 2027 Sustainability is Responsibility (SIR) Summit in Guyana from March 7-10, 2027. Held in partnership with Guyana Tourism Authority, the summit invites both Active and Associate members to collaborate, participate in cross-sector learning, and continue to pave the way to a more responsible future in the travel industry.
Costs are going up, but that’s not stopping travelers from investing in their vacations. New MMGY research from their 2026 Portrait of American Travelers™ “Fall Edition” finds travel spending nearing a high as consumers make trade-offs to keep taking those cherished trips.
According to the latest Longwoods International tracking study of American travelers, 75% of them believe travel is becoming too expensive, up from 64% a year ago. But even with rising cost concerns, 81% of travelers report that vacations are one of the things they most look forward to each year, and 55% are willing to cut spending in other areas to fund their trips.
