Acts of Gratitude in the Workplace
Through the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, things can get stressful—at home and at work. But that shouldn't cast a dark cloud over all the good there is to celebrate. We've compiled some simple ways to show you're thankful at work.
Baked Goods
Who doesn't love 'em? Spend a relaxing evening in with your favorite tunes blasting and bake to your heart's content. You may ruin a few diets, but sharing some sugar-coated treats with your team is always a kind idea. Just make sure to be sensitive to any known allergies your officemates may have.
Check In
Simply asking someone how they're doing and letting them know you appreciate them takes hardly any time, yet the impact felt from taking a moment to do so is vast. Sometimes you might work on the other side of the office and don't cross paths with a co-worker often—so take the time to let them know you're thankful for them!
Be Flexible and Offer Help
Rather than always being buried in your own tasks, show you're thankful for your colleagues by lending a helping hand when you can. A team that works together to lift everyone up is one that truly thrives.
Organize a Team Gathering
Taking the time to create a team bonding opportunity is vital. Whether it's a potluck or tickets to a local play, show your team you're thankful for them by doing something special where everyone can let loose and have fun.
Notes of Kindness
When you know someone is really going the extra mile, tell them they're killin' it! If you notice someone has been off their game a little bit, share some kindness. Leave a sticky note with a positive and motivating message on their desk. You never know how big an impact something so small may have!
