A Focus on Students: Lisa White

Lisa White started her career at Travel With Barb in 2016, excited to learn about student group travel.

"I have known Barb for a long time and saw all the good she was doing for so many high school students, and helping them go on these amazing trips and make lasting memories," said White. "I had been interested in travel and knew that working for Barb would make for a fun and enjoyable career."

White now works in operations and helps serve as a tour director during student travel season.

Through aiding in planning the company's many student group trips, Lisa gets great joy in seeing students' excitement and awe when they arrive in a new city—something she says intrigues her about the industry as a whole.

"Those students that are going to a big city or the ocean for the first time and seeing the awe on their face makes this job even better," said White.

On top of that, White says, her teammates, the directors, and the suppliers she works with daily make the student group travel world enjoyable.

White is unable to choose a favorite accomplishment so far, saying the many times she hears how much fun students had on their trip and how smooth it went is always gratifying.

"Since I am one that helps with the booking process of the trips, it is always nice to hear that we set the groups up with fun and enjoyable experiences."
