Destination Cleveland Welcomes Lauren Federico
Destination Cleveland, the destination marketing and management organization for greater Cleveland, has welcomed Lauren Federico as senior director of convention services in April. Federico, an industry veteran, brings 16 years of event management experience to the convention services and group tour team.
In her role, Federico focuses on elevating the experience for event planners, tour organizers and attendees in the post-COVID landscape. She manages a team of destination experts to execute pre-promote events, optimize citywide business, manage convention housing services and support group tour operators.
"We're thrilled to add Lauren's event expertise and attention to detail to the Destination Cleveland team," said Gordon Taylor III, Vice President of Convention Sales and Services, Destination Cleveland. "We frequently hear from event planners and tour operators that Cleveland goes above and beyond as a host location. Lauren brings the leadership we need to build on that reputation and continue to advance Cleveland as a premier meeting, convention and group tour destination."
Federico, who graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, shared her excitement when speaking about her new role.
"This is an amazing opportunity to lead the convention services and group tour team at Destination Cleveland," said Federico. "I'm excited to build long-term relationships with our clients and partners as we continue to enhance the success of events and groups visiting Cleveland."
Federico previously served as director of event services at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, where she managed 40 events annually for clients including associations, corporate and non-profit groups, government agencies and healthcare institutions. Prior, she worked as event services manager at two major convention facilities in Boston and as an event planner at The World Bank in Washington DC.
