Your Guide to an Urban Getaway
Nestled along the Fox River and Lake Winnebago in northeast Wisconsin is the Fox Cities, Greater Appleton area. The 19 communities are an oasis of shopping, dining and other favorite group activities.
Where to Shop
The Fox Cities offer "Wisconsin's Best Shopping" and there are plenty of options to shop 'til you drop. In addition to Fox River Mall's 140 national-name stores, the downtowns feature unique specialty shops offering apparel, home décor, specialty gifts and more. Visitors can also venture just outside of the downtowns, to find more locally owned shops offering a variety of items.

Whether you're looking for a large hotel and conference center, quaint bed and breakfast, or a place with a great pool to bring the kids for the weekend, there's something for you in the Fox Cities. Many of the lodging properties also offer special packages and rates throughout the year.

Breweries and pubs, ethnic eateries, fine-dining restaurants, coffee houses and cafes ... The Fox Cities has a diverse palate for any itinerary. The expansive culinary scene affords the perfect venue for travlers to grab a bite to eat, a drink with friends or a quiet spot to connect with colleagues.

The Fox Cities is an artistic and cultural hub that boasts a number of activities for all ages and group sizes. Groups will find theaters and special events to applaud performing arts; galleries and museums to enhance appreciation of visual art and culture; and DIY studios. Area arts and culture attractions offer group pricing, plus special experiences to enhance the visit.
Where to Explore
Groups can shop until they drop in the Fox Cities, Greater Appleton area, but make no mistake: There are still plenty of opportunities for some fresh air. The area is prime for kayaking and biking with over 100 miles of trails, plus nature centers, orchards and High Cliff State Park.
