Swing from the Treetops
The Toledo Zoo has revamped and revitalized its much-lauded Africa! exhibit. Students can still see giraffes, zebras, greater kudu, wildebeest and ostriches from the zoo's overlook, but beginning on Memorial Day weekend 2016, they can also enjoy some exciting new Africa-centric experiences!
Tower Ridge Giraffe Feed
Are your students itching to learn more about these fascinating 15- to 20-foot beauties? At the Tower Ridge Giraffe Feed exhibit, students will get up close and personal with these lanky, spotted animals while feeding them crunchy lettuce leaves.
Expedition Africa! Aerial Adventure Course
Thrill-seeking students will revel in the sky-high spectacle that is Expedition Africa! This versatile aerial adventure course provides customized experiences. Students can combine multiple elements from the exhibit's two high-rope challenge towers and its exhilarating 80-foot-high zipline, creating a one-of-a-kind aerial adventure high above the Africa! exhibit.
For students who prefer to play it safe, the exhibit also offers a simple scenic option. This "play it safe" crowd could walk across three 250-foot long footbridges, while peering down at the splendor of the Africa! exhibit. That said, this could be the perfect opportunity for them to overcome a fear of heights, as professionally trained coaches are ready to help each participant carefully navigate the course.
Those hoping to flex their muscles will enjoy the exhibit's physically challenging obstacles.
Teachers, chaperones, tour operators and parents who wish to take in the sights in a less interactive way could buy Sky Bridge tickets.
The Aerial Adventure Course opens to the public on Memorial Day Weekend. Reservations can be made in April.
Get excited: It's almost time for your students to swing like monkeys at the Toledo Zoo!
