Mississippi Charm

If you can dream it, you can do it in Mississippi. There's no better way to immerse yourself in this Southern haven than to let the sounds of jazz, blues, and R&B flow through your head while the people and sights capture your heart.

 "There's no other place that embodies the heart and soul of the true South, in all its rich and varied expressions and experiences," said Karen Matlock, program manager of domestic group tours at the Mississippi Development Authority Tourism Division.

While strolling the beautiful landscape that blankets the state, keep an eye out for the new Outlets of Mississippi, opening this November as the region's largest and most upscale outlet center. Also make it a point to see the well-maintained, still grandiose antebellum and Victorian homes, as well as to participate in the Annual Spring Pilgrimage, a Top 20 Southeast Tourism Event, where guests could tour the homes complete with 1800s period costumes and activities.

Although these sites and attractions are ones that should be put on your must-see list, don't forget that Mississippi is known as the "Birthplace of America's Music."
