Kings Island Debuts Record-Breaking Coaster Ride
Thrill-seekers had something to scream about when the world's longest inverted steel roller coaster, "Banshee," debuted April 18, 2014 at Kings Island, in Ohio.
Designed exclusively for Kings Island by Switzerland-based Bolliger & Mabillard, and themed to a wailing mythological messenger from the underworld, with flowing white hair and gleaming eyes, Banshee features a succession of breathtaking thrills. Textured lighting and other special effects bring the Banshee legend to reality, creating the ultimate night ride experience.
Riders on Banshee will be seated in cars four across, reaching speeds up to 68 mph on the 4,124 foot-long track. A total of three trains, each containing eight cars, will enable Banshee to accommodate approximately 1,650 riders per hour.
