Ohio Brew Week: July 10 – 18
For groups in the Columbus area, Ohio Brew Week offers craft beer, savory nosh, and cool tunes.
Ohio Brew Week returns to the Hocking Hills region, forty miles southeast of Columbus, for its 10th consecutive year. Slated for July 10 through 18, the week features a variety of events and activities highlighting the Ohio craft beer scene. Beer tastings, educational classes, food, and music events will take over the streets of Athens. Overlapping with Athens' Thirty Mile Meal Week, Ohio Brew Week will partner with the event to feature locally made, farm-to-table food experiences. "Ohio Brew Week includes a huge range of great beers—all being made in Ohio," Ohio Brew Week Executive Director Weston Lombard said. "We're excited to partner with all of these local businesses and recognize our Ohio breweries for their craft."
The weeklong festival of Ohio brews features a variety of free activities and programs, including the opening event, Rock 'N Roast, held Friday, July 10 at Ohio University Inn. Beer aficionados are invited to this kickoff where they'll enjoy beer from Elevator Brewing Company, outdoor activities, a pig roast, live music, and more. On Monday, July 13, at 5 p.m., the Keg Tapping Ceremony will commence at Jackie O's Public House. Throughout the week, local Hocking Hills-area breweries such as Rockmill Brewery, Little Fish Brewing Company, Devil's Kettle, and Jackie O's will offer tours, home brewing lessons, educational forums, and more.
In addition, Ohio Brew Week's annual Brew BQ features local, farm-to-table food, live music, and craft beer. To close the week, travelers are invited to Last Call, an all-day festival on Saturday, July 18. More than 30 breweries will line Athens' Court Street, along with local bands and food trucks.
Travelers can also explore many unforgettable activities and experiences while in the Hocking Hills. In between Ohio Brew Week events, visitors can enjoy the region's spectacular landscape with an easy hike to Ash Cave or a longer trek to Old Man's Cave or Cedar Falls. More adventure is offered with a wealth of activities, including guided rappelling, zipline canopy tours, off-road Segway tours, belly boat fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, golf, and spas. Other great stops include unique shops tucked away in the woods, tours of the last working washboard factory in America, and the area's largest antique and flea market.
